On June 2013 Hooptap developed The Clan Challenge app for Clan, the Children’s TV channel from the Spanish state television Radio Televisión Española (RTVE). The app was built to strengthen the relationship between the children’s channel and its audience during summer.
The app allowed the children to enjoy and participate in a special contest during July and August. This contest enabled the kids to win prizes and to interact actively with all the channel’s content.
Without further advertising tools, The Clan Challenge mobile achieved outstanding results: 200, 000 children played more than 70,000 games each day and more than 3 million games during the entire contest period. These results confirmed RTVE campaign’s success.

The mobile app, worked as a continuous engagement channel during the summer period. It achieved constant interaction and involvement during the period when the children are more likely to be away from home.
In this case, children had to accomplish the daily challenges based on their favorite characters in order to complete the weekly achievements and have access to win great prizes, such as the Clan tablet. Therefore, the children were involved with the TV content in an active and continuous way.
Due to the platform’s flexibility, RTVE was able to monitor the children’s response in real time and adapt its content in order to emphasize the elements that produced greater engagement.
Thanks to Hooptap’s platform, RTVE accomplished successfully a challenging goal: to retain their Kids’ channel audience during summertime.
